The Oxford School building in Baku, which some time ago was confiscated from the state, has been put up for sale.
According to information from “Qafqazinfo”, at the auction of the object, which the executive director put up for sale for 24.7 million manats, there was no buyer.
The non-residential building, which was auctioned for the second time yesterday, was not commissioned by any legal or natural person.
For this reason, the building located at 108 Abbasgulu Abbaszade Street, Sabail District, Baku City, will be re-auctioned for the third time with a 10 percent discount.
This time the non-residential building will be offered for 22 million 232 thousand 700 manats.
It should be noted that the school was confiscated as part of the criminal case of the former owner of the “Baku Steel Company” Rasim Mammadov. In court it was revealed that the construction of the school was carried out with funds appropriated from the “Baku Steel Company” and that no outsiders spent money on the construction of the school.
The ruling states that the Oxford School in Baku, run by Rasim Mammadov’s wife, Mehriban Mammadova, was built with money obtained through crime.
For this reason, the State should be condemned. Mammadov’s property worth 70 million was confiscated. All lower courts considered it legal.
Interestingly, Kamila Aliyeva, daughter of the former head of the presidential administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev, opposed the complete confiscation of the famous Oxford School in Baku. Thus, Aliyeva, who claimed to have a stake in the school, went to court. K. Aliyeva wrote in her complaint that half of the Oxford School in Baku belongs to her and that she wants all bodies to resume previous work.
According to other information, Mehriban Mammadova, who remains the director of the Baku Oxford School together with the daughter of the former head of administration, wants to join the job as an interested person. Both women appealed to the first instance, the Baku Serious Crimes Court.
The court has not yet considered his appeal.
It should be noted that Kamila Aliyeva is the wife of former deputy Ilham Aliyev. Doctor of psychological sciences, Professor K. Aliyeva is head of the Department of Social and Pedagogical Psychology at Baku State University. From time to time, it is written in the media that he is the owner of a part of the Baku Oxford School located in the Badamdar settlement, where the children of wealthy people are educated.
It should be noted that Rasim Mammadov himself was sentenced to 13 years and 9 months in prison.
