The origin of your Fair

The Montoro Fair is not only a week of celebration, but also a celebration deeply rooted in the history of the municipality. It finds its origin on October 7, in gratitude to the Virgin of the Rosary for the protection provided after the Lisbon earthquake of 1755a fact that marked the entire peninsula.

It is for this reason that today, Monday October 7, Montoro celebrates its patronal feast. The solemn procession of the Virgin of the Rosary walked the streets of Montoreña, accompanied by the faithful and the music of the Polyphonic Choir of Montoreña. This event is one of the most anticipated moments of the year.

The fair offers a wide range of activities for all ages, from sporting competitions at the Livestock Fairwhich brings together fans and professionals of the sector in an atmosphere of coexistence and tradition. There will be no shortage of parades, brass bands and orchestras which will fill the streets of the municipality with music.

Fair concerts

One of the main attractions of this edition of the show is its varied musical offering, with concerts and shows for all ages. The program is packed with live music, with events like the Senior Citizens Tribute on Wednesday, October 9, which will feature a performance by Isabel Ma Spain during lunch at the municipal stand.

For lovers of flamenco and popular music, the artist Joana Jimenez will present his show “Conversiones” at the Municipal Theater on Friday October 11. The evening will end with fireworks and performances from “Millennium” Orchestra and the “Olivetti” version group.

Saturday October 12, the last day of the show, will be full of energy and fun. The day will begin with the performance of Dance group “Katy Reyes” at the Municipal Kiosk at 2:30 p.m., followed by the concert of the group “La Conde Band” in the afternoon. The grand musical closing will be performed by Group “Raya Réal”who will offer a concert in the Plaza de Toros at 9:30 p.m., accompanied by the guest group “Carril Bici”.

At midnight, the party will continue at the municipal stand with a performance by “Mediterranean” Orchestrawhich will put the final touch on this edition of the Montoro Fair.
