“Initially, it was proposed that Holy Thursday, April 17, would be one of the two local festivals next year, along with June 24, that of San Juan, but after discussing with the Federation of Fogueres and other festive groups, we responded to their request and decided that Monday, June 23, would be a holiday to further exalt our great festivities of the Bonfires,” explained the Councilor in charge of Festivities, Christina Garcia. “This way, in Alicante next year we will have a ‘bridge‘ of four days in Hogueras and another of the same duration in Easter week” he added.

In addition to Monday, June 23 and Tuesday, June 24, which will be local holidays in Alicante, the 2025 work calendar is completed by the following: festivities: January 1, New Year; January 6, Epiphany of the Lord; March 19, San José; April 18, Good Friday; April 21, Easter Monday; May 1, Labor Day; August 15, Assumption of the Virgin; October 9, Valencian Community Day; November 1, All Saints’ Day; December 6, Constitution Day; December 8, Immaculate Conception and December 25, Nativity of the Lord.
