These are the three schools and institutes in Andalusia that received an award for their innovation in SIMO.

These are the three schools and institutes in Andalusia that received an award for their innovation in SIMO.

Andalusian education once again makes the difference SIMO Education, the international trade fair which holds its annual event every fall at Madrid Fair and Congress Center (Ifema).

Thus, three educational centers in the region received a distinction within the Award for Educational Innovation and Innovative Teaching Experienceswhich reached its twelfth edition in 2024 with more than 200 proposals from across the national territory distributed across 14 categories.

Concretely, two institutes and a school were chosen by the organization, in which the specialized media also collaborate. Education 3.0to receive the prize.

The first of them corresponds to IES Los Cerrosin the town of Jaén Úbeda. It is in fact a choral project in the form of a technological map on the diffusion of heritage in technological companies in the region and the job market faced by students in the country.

The Institute coordinated the work of 400 ESO and Baccalaureate students from six other educational centers. Jaen and one of Cordobamore precisely Andrés de Vandelvira, of Baeza; Az Zait, from Jaén; Ferdinand III, of Martos; Ferdinand III the Saint, Priego de Córdoba; Gil de Zatico, Torreperogil; Jándula, of Andujar; and the Peña del Águila, Royal Spot.

The advisor herself, Maria del Carmen Castilloemphasized that these projects and experiments represent an “enriching educational experience, which enhances Steam skills – science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics – and promotes entrepreneurship”.

Oil museum and time travel

In this sense, in the category of Best Innovative Secondary and Baccalaureate Experience, the work of Sainte Marie Notre-Dame Diocesan School from Écija.

With the clear aim of promoting entrepreneurship and Steam vocations, especially among students, and consolidating tourism in the Seville city, the educational center presented a model of Rebeca Madero from Ecijano Oil Museum. Logo, signage, interactive blog, 3D parts connected via an Android application to an Arduino technological card… The details and specifications are varied.

Finally the Better gamification experience rewarded the work of Chronological revolution4th year ESO students from CEIP Agustín Rodríguez de la Fuente.

This proposal from the center Genil Bridge “This allowed students, with the participation of their families, to travel back in time to discover how human beings have evolved while being responsible for the problems our planet faces today,” explains the Commission.

It is based on the animated film Netflix of 2021 “The Mitchells against the machines” to help students “travel to the past, present and future through different learning situations with the intention of obtaining the deadly codes that would disconnect the machines that had rebelled against humanity.”

“These projects, each in their own category, are a clear example of the high level of our centers when it comes to developing innovative and avant-garde ideas”, underlined the advisor, who concluded by expressing the satisfaction of the Council of administration that “Andalusian education is at the forefront in the use of technologies and innovation.”
