They adapt the IES ‘Ribera del Tajo’ into a center of excellence for professional training in AI and Big Data

The regional government is carrying out work at the IES “Ribera del Tajo” in Talavera (Toledo) to adapt its facilities for the training it offers as a Center of Excellence for Professional Training in the sector of artificial intelligence and of Big Data and which will represent its technological, digital and methodological transformation.

Some reform and expansion works in which the Government of Castile-La Mancha will invest 247,000 euros, coming from Next Generation European funds, and which received this Thursday the visit of the provincial delegate of Education, Culture and Sports, José Gutiérrez, who said that “this is a fundamental intervention to be able to carry out the methodological changes necessary to make the Ribera del Tajo Institute a reference in innovation and excellence in matters of professional training in new technologies, in line with the digital and productive transformation that the Cité de la Céramique is experiencing.

José Gutiérrez visited this new educational space which is being transformed into a two-story building of the institute itself with five classrooms, two on the ground floor and three on the first floor, which will be transformed into two floors in which there will be with a classroom in each and separate open and flexible spaces connected by an internal staircase.

This will be the ‘Reference pavilion of excellence in Artificial Intelligence (AI)” with “all classrooms modernized, enlarged and equipped with the latest technological developments useful to the center of excellence, so that the work areas can be adapted to the specific needs of each challenge posed, as well as promoting creativity, collaboration and innovation throughout the entire teaching and learning process,” explained Gutiérrez.

In short, added the provincial delegate, “an action that will allow us to face the necessary methodological changes and make the IES Ribera del Tajo a leading center of innovation and excellence in professional training at the national level and to have of a reference pavilion. ” in Artificial Intelligence from all over Spain.

Gutiérrez, who visited the action carried out at the Talavera Institute with its director, Andrés de las Heras, also highlighted that “the building has ventilation and natural light and its design takes into account constructive solutions, materials and quality finishes.

Furthermore, pedagogical considerations such as “greater flexibility and adaptability of the educational space to the changing needs of the teaching process, the promotion of teamwork, collaboration and communication between the students themselves and their students were taken into account for the improvement of adaptation. motivation, as well as improving creativity and innovation in the educational process.

For the provincial delegate of Education, Culture and Sports, the action carried out at IES Ribera del Tajo has a fundamental objective which is the direct and favorable impact on students.
