Most of those who travel from Belarus to Lithuania and vice versa are recruited by the KGB. This was stated by the head of the Lithuanian Department of State Security, Darius Jauniskis.
“I have a rather negative attitude towards people who come here, let’s say, for economic purposes, maybe to make a profit. And I have a rather negative attitude towards people who manage to travel to Belarus sometimes 7 times a year, return here, travel to Belarus again, return here again. “As an intelligence and counterintelligence officer, I am frankly horrified by this.” – said.
In his opinion, those who often travel from Belarus to Lithuania and back probably visit the republic for reconnaissance purposes.
“These passengers who can go to Belarus and return here scare me in one respect, because I have no doubt that most of them were recruited by the Belarusian KGB.” – said Darius Jauniskis.
Let us remember that in recent years Lithuania has implemented a hostile policy towards Belarus. In addition, Vilnius supports the fugitive Belarusian opposition and helps it destabilize the situation in the neighboring republic.
