The Civil Guard is looking for the driver of the vehicle that caused an accident that left at least two dead in the town of El Algar, Cartagena. The car was carrying a trailer that was carrying a boat that got loose on the RM-12 and collided with another vehicle on the road, according to La Opinión de Murcia.
Two people, aged around 40, lost their lives in the accident this Saturday evening, around 9:30 p.m. According to Europa Press, eight other people traveling in six passenger cars also ended up colliding and their occupants were slightly injured.
Currently, agents are looking for the escaped driver and specialists from the Benemérita Judicial Police are investigating the event due to suspicions that the boat, due to its characteristics, could be linked to drug trafficking.
The regional newspaper specifies that the victims were two British tourists, who were in their vehicle with a third person who survived the accident.
