They are suing the mayor of Compromís in Banyeres for not respecting the 90,000 euro salary increase for his civil servants

He mayor de Banyeres de Mariola (Alicante), Josep Sempere (Commitments), will have to appear again in February 2025 as defendant before the Contentious-Administrative Court No. 4 of Alicante for infringe a penalty for the professional career of its officials, who will receive a salary increase total of 90,000 euros.

This was stated by the FESEP union, which announced this Friday that it had already filed a complaint in May 2023 before the courts of Alicante for the “inactivity” of the municipal government team, “in particular of its mayor, for the economic damage “what was caused to municipal public employees” by not applying this new updated regulation with categories and remuneration or seniority.

The document was unanimously approved by the Plenary in March 2022 and after the admission of the aforementioned lawsuit, the court set the hearing for January 30, 2024. On the same day of the hearing and in writing from the mayor, he was The Town Hall requested the suspension of the trial due to its commitment to apply the regulation “as a sign of good faith in the negotiations”.

For this reason, FESEP “granted a vote of trust on the mayor’s word and granted his request, the court decided to postpone the hearing for 60 days so that the Town Hall could execute the aforementioned regulation.

Today, after nine months and well beyond the 60 days granted by the court and after non-compliance, the civil servants’ union has reactivated the judicial process.

“For FESEP it is unacceptable treatment and lightness that the municipal government of Compromís has with municipal employees, its bad faith in negotiations, a practice that is repeated too many times, not respecting the court orders and violating labor rights,” they denounced.
