The Mossos and the Civil Guard arrested a man and a woman in the Granada town of Pinos Puente, marriage, as alleged perpetrators of the deaths of two people On the night of Sant Joan this year in Girona there was a fight, sources from both security forces reported.
The arrests were made early on Tuesday by agents of the Civil Guard, who were acting as judicial police, and members of the judicial police of the Mossos de Girona, who travelled to Granada for the arrests.
The arrests, according to sources close to the case, were made in a house in Pinos Puente, where the arrested couple was located, while other officers carried out a registration in Alcalá la Real, in Jaén. The same sources said that the detainees are in Granada but it is expected that they could be transferred to Girona during the day.
The case of this event is being investigated by the Instruction Court number 3 of the capital of Girona. The agents keep the investigation into the case open and do not rule out new arrests, according to the aforementioned sources. The event took place on the night of June 23 – just three months ago – during the celebration of the night of Sant Joan in the Font de la Pólvora neighborhood of Girona, after an argument between two women, one of whom was arrested this Tuesday.
The deaths resulted in an attempted assault by the victims’ relatives and friends at the Girona hospital where the injured in the event were being treated, guarded by the Mossos, as well as the burning of the house of the alleged perpetrator of the deaths.
