The Civil Guard is investigating the two events, which occurred in the municipality a few weeks apart, while Esquerra Unida is calling for responsibilities to be clarified.
Esquerra Unida denounced the Police and security advisor’s vehicle set on fire of the town of Aspe, in Alicante, José Vicente Pérez, and demanded “an exhaustive investigation” into the events and the clarification of “responsibilities”.
It so happens that these events, at the hands of the Civil Guard, occur “weeks after” the fire in the mayor’s father’s van from this locality, Antonio Puerto, from the same party, according to the formation in a press release.
EUPV coordinator Rosa Pérez Garijo guaranteed in a statement that the party “will not tolerate persecution, threats or coercion against its public agents to fulfill their obligations and guarantee the general interest of citizens.”
Given what happened, he showed all his “support and solidarity” both to councilor José Vicente Pérez and to the mayor of Aspe, Antonio Puerto.
