The woman, mother of two minors, was detained in the summer of 2023 and has been in temporary prison since then. She is accused of an alleged crime of attempted murder.
According to the prosecution’s indictment, since March 29, 2023, the child has had “four admissions to hospital in a state of chronic diarrhea with vomiting, anorexia and dehydration“, with her mother serving as her “primary caregiver.” When doctors told the woman they had completed their studies and were “going home with the child,” the mother “became very nervous,” the letter added. , collected by Europe Press.
During the last admission, in June of the same year, the analysis revealed that the little boy had “medications in his body that had not been administered” by doctors.: Furosemide and Doxazosin, a diuretic and laxative “not suitable for minors.” According to the prosecution, the accused gave these medications to her son “knowing that this could cause death and accept the outcome“.
They were the doctors of the service Pediatrics at Virgen de Valme Hospital from Seville who reported the matter to the National Police. The minor had already 40 days allowedbut his health, far from improving, was getting worse and worse.
After some blood tests, health workers discovered the presence of the aforementioned drugs, which do not exist in the pediatric department of the hospital. During admissions, the minor was at all times accompanied by his mother in your room, as hospital protocol dictates.
After the complaint, the court ordered a police custody the child 24 hours a day and prohibits parents from requesting a voluntary discharge or transferring the child to another medical center.
