Agents of the National Police, in collaboration with the British NCA, They dismantled an organization allegedly dedicated to transporting drugs in Marbella and Elche in trucks, they seized 1,200 kilograms of hashish and arrested seven British citizens, members of the organization, who were transporting the narcotic in large capacity plastic drums filled with fine sand from construction mortar.
In addition, searches were carried out at a farm in Elche, which the organization used as a “kindergarten” -where the narcotic substance was located- and in three houses in Marbella and Fuengirola, where “samples” of hashish bearing the same anagrams as the drugs found in the ship were seized.
The investigation began last April when officers learned that a group of citizens of British origin were engaged in international drug trafficking, for which they were using large trucks. In May, investigators located one of the vehicles used by this group to transport drugs and verified that it was registered in the name of the company of those arrested, the National Police said in a press release.
After this discovery, agents located a property in Elche (Alicante) that the organization used as a “daycare” to hide the narcotic substance, simulating legal activity, as inside was a large quantity of civil engineering equipment. In this location it was possible to verify that there was a continuous transfer in and out of construction materials stacked on pallets such as paving stones, barrels, polyethylene tubes or sandbags.
The researchers found a “intense activity” of members of the organization inside the ship and they detected that they could be planning the introduction of a large shipment of narcotic substances into Spain. For this reason, a search operation of the ship was launched, in which agents located 1,200 kilos of hashish and arrested four members of the organization. They found some of the drugs arranged in burlap bundles and smaller bundles.
The remainder of the narcotic substance was hidden in large-capacity plastic drums, stacked on pallets, which investigators filled with fine sand from construction mortar to transport inside trucks. Additionally, two frequency inhibitors were involved in the registry.
