The National Police dismantled two drug production laboratories in Toledo, one for methamphetamine and one for cocaineand arrested 16 people from this criminal organization, including a chemist belonging to the Sinaloa cartel who I worked for the “Chapitos” and that he traveled expressly from Mexico in an attempt to extend his influences into Spain.

The investigation began last July, when officers discovered the existence of a possible drug trafficking point in a house located in the Toledo Municipality of Yuncosdetailed the police in a press release. After several efforts, investigators checked for “unusual movements” of people and vehicles and expanded surveillance at the site.

“After various investigations, the agents broadened the objectives and identified the different members of the organization. It was particularly difficult to locate the laboratoriesdue to their isolated location and the security measures taken by those investigated,” police added.

First, officers located the methamphetamine laboratory in Palomeque (Toledo) after verifying the delivery of a large quantity of previously “cooled” liquids and reagents to intermediate points until their final transfer to the laboratory.

Subsequently, and after various monitoring, it was detected a new laboratory in the town of Méntrida, located in a macro farm “totally isolated and very difficult to access.”

“The agents carried out the exploitation of the operation by carrying out eight records in venues in Madrid and Toledo and they seized 6.5 kilos of methamphetamine, 31 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride, 125 kilos of cocaine base, 10 kilos of ephedrine, 7,500 liters of precursors and more than 21,000 euros in cash,” the police explained.

Of the 16 people arrested, 15 were placed in pre-trial detention.
