Brazilian Joao Marinho Netu has been recognized as the oldest man in the world.
Oku.Az reports that the official website of the Guinness Book of Records has published information in this regard.
Netu received this status on November 26 after the death of the British John Tinniswood. Tinniswood was 112 years old and Netu’s age is 112 years and 52 days. He is the last person born in 1912. Netu has lived for many years in the municipality of Apuyare, in the coastal province of Seara. The man has dedicated himself to agriculture almost his entire life. Netu was widowed in 1994, but still has a large family: six children, 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Netu said the secret to his longevity is the good people around him and his desire to always remain in the circle of family and friends.
According to the “LongeviQuest” organization, there are now three Brazilians among the five oldest men on the planet. The second oldest man after Netu is Jozinu Levinu Ferreira, 111, and Primo Olivieri, 110, rounded out the top five. Australian Ken Weeks, 111, and Mexican Ilario Orozco Lemus are third and fourth.
