Officers of the Burgos National Police managed to arrest “practically in flagrante delicto” an individual armed with a knife who entered a pharmacy near the Cathedral to demand that the two pharmacists present give him a tranquilizer from the benzodiazepine group.
The events, according to sources from the Government Delegation, were recorded early this Wednesday morning when the man now detained entered the pharmacy and, given the initial refusal to give him what was requested, he abruptly entered the interior area of the counter, starting to violently open drawers and medicine dispensers trying to locate the product, reports Ep.
Fortunately, he did not cause any injuries to the people present in the pharmacy, the two employees and a customer, and having failed to achieve his objective, he fled in a hurry.
One of the pharmacists called 091 and a National Police patrol arrived at the scene, whose officers collected the characteristics of the perpetrator. Within a minute, the man was located. inside a church located just a hundred meters away, where he had hidden after fleeing the pharmacy.
The man was immediately arrested and taken to the police station on Avenida de Castilla y León and when the backpack he was carrying was searched, the knife used in the attack was found, as well as a simulated gun.
