“They made illegal money transfers in Bahadir’s bank” – Millionaire brothers in front of the judge

The judicial investigation has begun into the gang members arrested in one of the largest operations carried out by the Department of Fighting Cybercrime of the Ministry of the Interior (MIA).

According to “Qafqazinfo”, the criminal case is being investigated at the Baku Serious Crimes Court.

In this case, six people sat on the dock. We are talking about the brothers Bahadir and Ikram Guliyev, their cousin Farhad Guliyev and Veli Aliyev, Javid Azizov and Anar Ahmadov, who have done their job. All of them are being tried in prison.

The accused were engaged in illegal money transfers in their companies operating in Yasamal district. From statements contained in the investigation materials, it appears that customers know the place as “Bahadir’s bank.” Bahadyr Guliyev is the one at the helm of affairs. He lived in Russia for many years and managed all affairs from there. Ikram supervised the work in Azerbaijan.

The brothers transferred illegal funds from a foreign country to Azerbaijan and from Azerbaijan to abroad. The investigation established that the company transferred 254 million 409 thousand 947 manats of illegal money abroad. Of these funds they were left with 2 million 500 thousand manats as a service commission.

The indictment was announced at the first hearing held at the Baku Serious Crimes Court. Farhad Guliyev, one of the defendants, admitted he was partially guilty, but the others said they were innocent. Their requests to change detention measures were rejected.

For your information, during the operation carried out by police officers, a large amount of gold, diamonds and other jewelry was found in the house of Ikram Guliyev. The prosecution claims that jewelry worth 1 million manats (853,771 manats) was smuggled into the country. On the instructions of Ikram Guliyev, the valuable objects made in Austria, Switzerland and Belgium, which they purchased in Dubai, were delivered to him by a means outside the customs control of Azerbaijan. The mediator in this case was Veli Aliyev.

Ikram Guliyev referred to this episode in court and said that he did not know that the jewelry was not registered. He stated that he declared everything he brought when he arrived in the country. He asked to create the conditions to present the document confirming it to the court.

The motion was not granted. Bahadir Guliyev complained about his health in court and his lawyer said his client needed an examination.

The court partially granted this request. But the defense was unhappy with the decisions and said they will present a petition to the judges.

As we mentioned earlier, the defendant Farhad Guliyev pleaded guilty in court. But during the investigation period, F. Guliyev said everything openly, knowing that he was fully guilty. He admitted that his cousins had been involved in illegal money transfers for many years and that he was overseeing the affairs.

According to Amioglu, Bahadır and Ikram created a tourism company called “Gozan Travel” in the aforementioned office in Yasamal to cover up their activities. He also had separate employees. In another statement, Farhad said he was not aware of the company’s illegal implementation of money transfers.
