A 45-year-old woman died this afternoon at 3 de la Princesa Street, in the so-called Plaza de los Cubos, in the heart of Madrid. More precisely, in the Moncloa-Aravaca district, a stone’s throw from the Plaza de España and above the Social Courts.
As ABC has learned, Summa-112 confirmed the death, apparently due to homicide and strangulation, and psychologists treated three other people for anxiety attacks. The 091 call came in at 3:35 p.m.
Police sources explain to ABC that they are investigating whether the victim is a prostitute, since the apartment where the events took place, for rent, was dedicated to accommodation. The truth is that the three women who lived there witnessed at least part of the events and raised the alarm. They were the ones who needed help because of the nervous breakdown.
The same sources indicate that these young girls would have seen a man flee who we do not yet know if he was a client or a friend or acquaintance of the victim, who was of Bolivian nationality.
The body apparently showed no signs of violence and it is suspected that he died of mechanical asphyxiation. Thus, it must be the coroner who determines the cause of death, which would in any case be homicidal.
The Homicide Section of the Madrid Judicial Police Brigade took charge of the investigation, as well as the Violent Crimes Group of the Scientific Brigade. For now, we are waiting for the judicial commission to order the removal of the body.
