The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has warned of the Incorrect labeling of a well-known cheesecake ice cream which could pose a risk to the health of the population, particularly for people celiac or gluten intolerant.
The Agency was informed via the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI). The product concerned is Regma brand cheesecake ice cream and the problem is that it is “labeled with the gluten free symbol”“, according to AESAN.
It was the company itself that notified the error to the competent authorities when detecting the presence of gluten in the product. This affected batch may pose a risk to consumers with celiac disease or people who have difficulty taking gluten.
