They uncover a real estate scam that generated a profit of 19,000 euros in Benidorm

The National Police have arrested two people, a man and a woman, for their alleged involvement in a case real estate scam with which they obtained a profit of 19,000 euros in illegitimate commissions, as reported by the provincial police station in a press release.

The arrest took place after a woman, owner of a real estate company, reported to the police stations that she had been the victim of a scam. From there, the Economic and Technological Crime Group of the National Police of Benidorm (Alicante) began the corresponding investigations and verified the reality of the reported events.

The complainant said that an acquaintance had offered her, in exchange for the payment of an initial commissionaccess to the purchase of real estate at very competitive prices and through the repurchase of unpaid mortgage loans from banking entities.

He also noted that the man stated that the said commissions would be fully returned to the complainant in the event that the banking entities did not accept the offers proposed by his real estate agency.

The victim provided several commissions and advances for the acquisition of several properties, but although the banks rejected the offers and the purchase did not materialize, the intermediary did not return the commissions as previously agreed.

From this information, the Economic and Technological Crime Police Group discovered that the usual operation of collecting commissions was to do so once the property had been successfully acquired and not before. Likewise, this confirmed the profit motive of the reported person. use deception and his significant participation in the crimes of fraud and theft of property, the same source said.

During the investigations, the National Police identified an intermediary person (front man) who received the bank transfers requested by the main investigator.

The officers eventually arrested the two people, a man and a woman of Slovak origin, aged 51 and 46 respectively. They also confirmed that the main perpetrator of the above-mentioned illegal acts was aware of various criminal records.

The actions carried out as part of this operation have been transferred to the Benidorm investigating court.
