The blood of the children of Masoud and Salam, a Palestinian family, is still present on the walls of their home. They were 12 and 15 years old.and they died on the roof while they were sleeping after the impact of a projectile fired by the Israeli army a few days ago.
“The Israeli army are criminals, they killed our children for no reasonand they are occupying our land. They have no right to enter here,” said Masoud, the father of the dead children.
This Tubas refugee camp, in the north of the occupied West Bank, was also one of the targets, along with the cities of Jenin and Tulkarem, of Israeli troops in the offensive launched this week which left more than twenty dead.
“The soldiers came and surrounded the area and started shooting at the Palestinians. And then They bombed our roof and killed my nephews upstairs and two other teenagers.” explains another relative about the tragic attack by Israel that lasted 32 hours.
Israel says the raids are justified because they are counter-terrorism operations aimed at killing members of Palestinian militias such as Islamic Jihad and Hamas, who are in the refugee camps.
The mother of these two children, Salam, is direct about these accusations: “No, no, no. We are at home, we are at home, they come with guns, projectiles. What can we do? My children had no weapons, no stones, they were sleeping. And I saw them dead on the roof.”
Pain and death have taken hold in these occupied Palestinian territories since the outbreak of the war in Gaza. The assaults by Israeli troops have so far left more than 300 dead in 2024.
