The National Police arrested a thief in Elche after five flights nights in establishments hoteliers from the city where the money was withdrawn from the coffers, as the headquarters reported in a statement.
During these attacks, the repeat offenders managed to manipulate blinds or break windows, in some cases also without leaving any trace or damage.
The investigation began when one of the victims went to the police station to report a burglary at his hotel business. He said he had been burgled twice, on different dates.
Officers discovered that the alleged assailant was seen tampering with the store’s blinds, where he then broke a glass and entered the business. Apparently, it was the ex-partner of the old owner of the establishment that could have remained copy blind keys.
Additionally, officers discovered he was involved in three other burglaries that were under investigation. In one of the robberies, police said, he manipulated one of the tabs that closed the window and did not need to break the glass.
The National Police said that all the robberies were committed at dawn and, in addition to the money collected, they also seized cards of credit to use fraudulently on the same day, with which he managed to achieve several refunds which amounted to 380 euros.
The prisoner, a 43-year-old man of Spanish nationality, was missing of background. It was placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of the city of Elche.
