Thirteen young people arrested for destroying the toilets at the Aranda de Duero fairgrounds (Burgos)

The judicial police officers of the local police station of Aranda de Duero (Burgos) arrested 13 young people, mostly minors, presumed perpetrators of damage to the toilets at the exhibition centre ‘El Picón’, recently inaugurated on the occasion of the Sonorama Ribera Festival and belonging to the infrastructure owned by the City Council of this city.

In mid-September, officials from the Aranda de Duero City Council reported serious damage to the public toilets at the “El Picón” fairground to the National Police.

These events had caused a great social alarm at the Arandinos, given the severity of the destruction, with walls knocked down, sinks on the floor, many lids (urinals) broken, as well as graffiti all over the walls. The damage was estimated at more than 10,000 euros by the City Hall experts.

The procedures carried out began with a thorough visual inspection carried out by the Scientific Police agents of the National Police Station of Aranda de Duero, and included the monitoring of profiles on the Internet and social networks, as well as numerous police statements.

The investigation, which does not exclude the involvement of other people, ended with the arrest of thirteen individuals, mostly minors. The corresponding police report was forwarded to the competent judicial authority, as reported this Wednesday by sources from the Government Sub-delegation.
