For Maria, a 72-year-old woman who has lived with her son for more than 40 years in a house on San Mateo Street, it is a specific event: “It is a quiet neighborhood, with people from all walks of life, but where there is respect. The incident occurred around noon on Monday, while the victim, 51, was walking with her daughter on the street, near the terrace of an ice cream parlor in Plaza Manila. At that moment, her ex-husband, 47, and her two children, 20 and 21, were also passing by. He pepper sprayed her.while the other took advantage of the opportunity to stab him in the side.
According to a witness present at the scene, Pepper spray sprayed on the terrace of the premises and several customers took refuge inside, terrified: “Everything happened very quickly. Almost no one noticed what was happening. All you could see was people running, screaming.” Neighbors alerted the authorities and the ambulance, who took the woman to hospital. After 8pm the same afternoon, her ex-husband and two children were finally arrested for attempted murder and another crime of gender violencein the case of the parent. Sources close to the case describe that the couple was separating and that since then the family was divided into two sides. Police sources confirmed to this media that the detainees are in the premises of the provincial police station of Alicanteand that they will be brought to the judicial disposal once the procedure, which attempts to clarify details about each person’s involvement in the assault.
According to what they explained, the woman was stabbed in front of her daughter, although It has not been confirmed whether the young woman was the attacker’s daughter. or on the contrary, it was the result of a previous relationship.
