All together. The Government of Aragon, the economic (CEOE and CEPYME) and social (CCOO and UGT) agents signed a socio-economic agreement of the legislative body in order to continue to promote together the economy of the Aragonese community.
The agreement is structured around five axes of action, mainly linked to the economic field, although it also includes other actions. More specifically, the emphasis is on training and employmentas well as in labor relations and collective bargaining. THE revitalization of businesses is another of the axes, like the cohesion and social actionTHE public services And administrative simplification and modernization.
Under these main axes, the agreement includes concrete measures such as an employability plan for the unemployed, the recovery of the figure for the continuing training program under contract, the modernization of INAEM services, the commitment to work-study vocational training and the adaptation of the university to world of work.

After signing the agreement, the President of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, highlighted the ability to reach agreements in the autonomous community with social and economic agents, as well as with the social peace and stability at levels where “little autonomy can be achieved”. Two aspects which, according to him, are highly appreciated by investors and which have also made it possible to provide socio-economic data above the Spanish average.
Precisely, this social peace and this consensus with economic and social agents are a key factor which will allow us to have a “hopeful” future after 2024, where investments of more than 30 billion euros have been announced. A figure he expressed confidence in could soon increase with the announcement of the Stellantis and CALT gigafactory. “A good job is being done,” he stressed.
From CEOE Aragón, its president, Miguel Mazo, valued the agreement and the tradition of pacts in the Aragonese community, now assuming that “everyone” new commitment “for Aragon”. Some agreements he highlighted are appreciated by businesses.
Reactions also took place within CEPYME Aragón. Its president, María Jesús Lorente, valued social peace in Aragon by describing it as “fundamental” for the investment attraction because “entrepreneurs only do it where there is little conflict and a favorable ecosystem”.
For his part, the secretary general of the UGT Aragón, José Juan Arcéiz, declared that a “broad spectrum” agreement had been signed, which includes “almost all layers” of the Aragonese economy and the social sphere . Special mention was made to training so that Aragonese professionals can apply for the jobs that are created. He also highlighted other aspects of the document such as work accidents and the consolidation of the Aragonese Mediation and Arbitration Service (SAMA).
Finally, from CCOO Aragón, its general secretary, Manuel Pina, emphasized that the Aragonese community is the the only autonomy that has maintained social dialogue since 1989. A climate of consensus which is linked to the arrival of investments because “social dialogue is not an objective in itself. It’s a tool to improve, advance and achieve greater social cohesion by adding the different visions to the agreement”.
