We are all shocked by the tragedy that DANA caused a week ago in the Valencian Community. This terrible natural disaster aroused numerous comments on social networks and some of them insisted on the coincidence of this tragedy with that reported in episode 8 of the series Breathe which premiered at the end of August on Netflix. Until now, no one had noticed this coincidence and what’s more, the tragedy also takes place in this same territory. This is not the first fiction in the plot of which a flood plays a decisive role, since it also occurs in the film. Water by Elena López Riera which takes place in a small town in the south-east of Spain or Flood by Tony Mitchell which takes place in London and is visible on the streaming platform Filmin.
The series Breathe was created by Carlos Montero for Netflix and It was created on August 30 before disaster strikes. The streaming platform has already announced that it will be renewed for a second season and the series stars well-known Spanish actors such as Najwa Nimri, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Blanca Suárez, Manu Ríos, Borja Luna and Alfonso Bassave, among others . Although the plot of this series initially has nothing to do with DANA, in episode 8 of the series its protagonists experience the chaos that a meteorological phenomenon of these characteristics brings to a hospital in Valencia.
The series of floods Breathe
The Respira series premiered on Netflix at the end of August on Netflix and the action takes place in the fictional Joaquín Sorolla Hospital in Valencia. Episode 8 of this fiction is entitled Cold drop and count how after the passage of a DANA through Valencia, it is flooded in several districts of the city. Most of those affected have to go to hospital, overwhelmed by the number of injured and limited resources.
In this series DANA left approximately 400 liters per square meter for approximately 3 hours and the consequences are equally terrible. This phenomenon is common during the months of September and October and occurs in the region, but no one expected this tragedy to happen two months after the premiere of this series.
