This is the new car park at Joaquín Sorolla station in Valencia

THE Joaquín Sorolla Station de Valencia has demarcated a rapid parking zone, located at the station gates, on the stretch of road closest to Largo Caballero street, with the aim of avoiding traffic jams.

This is an action coordinated by the Mobility Service of Valencia City Hall, Adif and the Local Police, which included work to reorganize traffic routes to facilitate mobility by public transport, such as ‘indicates the town hall in a press release.

In this way, the stretch of road closest to Largo Caballero street is left to private cars and private vehicles with a traffic lane and a waiting lane to load and unload passengers without leaving the vehicle.

This is a ‘kiss and go’ stop which aims to avoid inappropriate parking and the usual traffic jams in this busy area. This waiting area is designed to “be used for as little time as possible”.

For longer parking needs, ORA rotation spaces will be activated –blue zone– on Maestro Sosa street, and in the Adif car park, the first 15 minutes are free.

The traffic lanes between the gates of the Adif Joaquín Sorolla station and Francisco Largo Caballero street (extension of Bailén street) have been reorganized since last week, so that the five closest to the station They have been marked as exclusive for the circulation and loading and unloading operations of intercity buses and taxis. Likewise, an exclusive change of direction route was created for the public transport with an intercity bus stop.

Other measures have also been implemented, such as the installation of bollards on the sidewalk and the provision of motorcycle spaces on the road, to avoid inappropriate parking in the area.

The councilor for security and mobility, Jesús Carbonell, explained that with this new organization of traffic and stops, both for public transport and for private vehicles, the City Hall and Adif “are seeking guarantee fluidity in the arrival and departure of passengers from the station. “To achieve this, the directives set by both the Local Police and the mobility technicians were followed,” he stressed.

Last July, the Mobility service already intervened in the area with the installation of a traffic management camera and new traffic lights to facilitate the departure of taxis from the Sorolla station towards the streets of San Vicente Mártir and Maestro Sosa .
