The Singapore Grand Prix already has the man who will start from pole in Sunday’s race. It is Lando Norris, who is looking to exhaust the last options he has to challenge Max Verstappen in the World Cup standings.
The Singapore Grand Prix, the eighteenth round of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship, once again left a dynamic classification in which all the drivers gave their all on the complex Marina Bay street circuit. Q3 was marked by the accident of Carlos Sainz, who lost control of his car and caused a red flag eight minutes from the end of the session. Qualifying resumed later, but Sainz, unable to gain time, already knew that he would start in tenth position.
In Q2, Alexander Albon (11th place, next teammate of Carlos Sainz at Williams), Colapinto (12th), Czech Perez (13th), Magnussen (14th) and Ocon (15th). The big news here was Perez’s new disasteronce again unable to reach Q3 and weighing down Red Bull, already second in the Constructors’ World Championship (behind McLaren) due to the poor results of the Mexican driver.
The starting grid for the Singapore F1 Grand Prix is closed by Ricciardo (16th place), Stroll (17th), Gasly (18th), Bottas (19th) and Zhou (20th). So, Fernando Alonso’s teammate Lance Stroll could only be 17thalso demonstrating the huge difference between one driver and the other behind the wheel of an Aston Martin, as the Spaniard got the most out of the car by taking it into Q3.
