“This mantra of equality will end. Men and women are not the same”

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has done it again. In the second session of the Debate on the State of the Region, the popular woman resorted to her sexist discourse by denying equality between men and women. She did so in her response to the opposition parties that did not hesitate this Friday to criticize the creation of a ‘Comprehensive specialized care center for male victims of sexual violence“, which the leader had announced the day before.

“We are going to defend men and women with equality, of course, but with equality of opportunity before the law, which is the only true equality that exists,” shouted the popular woman from the podium of the Madrid Assembly. An idea in the following line was once again highlighted: “This mantra of equality as if we were equal is going to end, because men and women fortunately we are not equal and we don’t want to be either.

In this sense, President Ayuso questioned the opposition about what it refers to “when it speaks of equality”, and she herself responded: “It refers to the Manichean division between men and women”. A subject that she took advantage of to criticize that “we never talk about equality for people with disabilities or for older people who must have opportunities in companies”.

He accuses the left that “it is up to them to The ‘pop’ equality that sells a lot on television and in these advertisements that use women as if we were meat or if we were not strong enough to survive,” Ayuso reiterated in a speech. Likewise, she said that “victimizing” is how her opposition wants women.

The Directorate General for Equality cancels

He did not even hesitate to describe “ultimate ridicule” some of the equality initiatives that the opposition had proposed moments before, while she announced her government’s intention to abolish the Directorate-General for Equality and re-establish the Directorate-General for Women. Of course, for her, equality does not exist.

A decision taken under the argument that the “We must put an end to false equality once and for all.” This has led the people to regret that the central government – which leads a left-wing coalition government – “imbues the laws of the State with ridicule, which then falls back on all the autonomies”.
