The next trial took place in the criminal case against the director of the Mahsul stadium Alik Hasanov and the president of the Association of Sports Organizations of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan Nadir Aliyev.
Oku.Az-According to the information provided by the Baku Court of Serious Crimes, although the defendants had the final say at the session chaired by Judge Farid Namazov, they asked the court for two weeks because they were not prepared for it.
It should be recalled that in the previous trial, the prosecutor suggested that each of the defendants be sentenced to 11 years and 6 months in prison.
According to the indictment, Nadir Aliyev and Alik Hasanov are accused of selling the stadium’s surface to businessmen engaged in the construction of multi-storey buildings. They took a total of 900,000 manats from businessmen who wanted to buy the area, both in the name of giving it to the BEH leadership and to the confederation. In addition, it is alleged that Alik Hasanov himself deceived another businessman and took his money.
During the investigation, Alik Hasanov said that he was able to sell the stadium territory to another businessman for 8 million manats and that he had confiscated 360,000 manats by bribing relevant officials and completing the relevant paperwork.
Nadir Aliyev and Alik Hasanov were charged under Articles 178.4 (fraud with especially large damage) and 32.4, 312.1 (incitement to bribery) of the Criminal Code. 5 people were recognized as victims in the criminal case. These are Rauf Ismayilov, Dadash Umbatov, Habib Zulfugarov, Elchin Rustamov and Yusif Valikhanov.
