Those convicted of the pogrom at Makhachkala airport appealed the sentence

According to the court’s website, five people convicted in the case of involvement in mass riots at Makhachkala airport have appealed the verdict of the Armavir City Court.

Anvarbek Ataev, Islam Ibragimov*, Magomed Omarashabov, Salik Ramazanov AND Rabadan Radjabov convicted of disturbing public order, accompanied by the use of violence, motivated by national and religious hatred. Ataev, Ibragimov*Omaraskhabov and Ramazanov were sentenced to 6 years and 4 months in prison, Radzhabov to 9 years in prison for all the crimes committed.

The riots on October 29, 2023 were caused by the arrival of a flight from Tel Aviv with Israeli citizens on board. The accused, being part of a large crowd, broke through the cordon, entered the terminal and reached the aircraft parking lot. As a result of the actions of more than 1.5 thousand people, the airport was completely blocked. The identities of 136 participants in the pogrom have been established.
