Three men in two different cars were injured early Sunday morning in a spectacular accident believed to have been caused by illegal racing. The event took place in an industrial zone with very little traffic and located right next to La Gavia Park, in an industrial zone in the Villa de Vallecas district.
At the close of this edition, those involved were in serious condition in various hospitals. For the moment, other hypotheses are not excluded, such as a fight or an agreed fight, a subject which is being investigated by the judicial station of the road police of the municipal police.
The first warning was given by plainclothes officers from the local Corps. It was 12:50 a.m. and they were alerting of a major accident very close to where the slum and drug town of Las Barranquillas once stood, between M-45 and M-31. More precisely, it is the industrial zone of La Atalayuela.
As ABC learned, the first uniformed patrols did not take long to reach the point of collision between the two cars, which had been frontolateral: the intersection of Sierra de la Demanda Avenue and El Avenue Real de San Vicente.
They were two Volkswagen Golfs, one gray and the other white. In the first case, the driver got stuck in the iron mass and had to be freed by the firefighters of Park 8 of Madrid with shears in the central pillar of the vehicle, reports Madrid Emergency Services. They took the injured man out from the side and Samur took him to the 12 de Octubre Hospital with several fractures to the pelvis and left leg and possible chest trauma. He is 34 years old and comes from the Embajadores region.

The officers discovered a crowd of people there, despite the early morning and the inhospitable location. They quickly suspected an illegal race, since La Atalayuela has long been the scene of these bets, to the point that the town hall had to place huge flower pots in its vials just before the pandemic.
Data collected by this newspaper indicates that when the uniformed officers arrived, the gray Volkswagen Golf, also damaged, was empty. The witnesses told police that friends took them on their own to the Infanta Leonor Hospital in Vallecas.
Investigators went to the scene and found the co-pilot’s close friend, a 20-year-old man from the Hortaleza neighborhood. Many relatives were waiting in the emergency room and said the driver of this second car was also driven by friends on October 12. Everyone involved is Spanish.
