An explosion at the end of battery 1, in the anti-explosion valves of the feed gas, of the ArcelorMittal plant in Gijón caused three burns, among the workers of the Daorje company, who have already been evacuated to HUCA, said sources of the multinational steel company.
The explosion occurred after 2 p.m. at the end of Battery 1, in the anti-explosion valves of the feed gas, the sources said.
Sources from the Asturian steel multinational explained that the fire had already been brought under control by the company’s own fire extinguishing service.
Three workers from the Daorje company, which provides ancillary services to ArcelorMittal, were injured and have been evacuated.
The cause of the explosion is still unknown, as is the condition of the injured.
