The TikTok platform plans to ban the use of beauty filters during video recording to protect the psychological well-being of underage users.
Oku.AzAccording to The Guardian, these filters can change facial features to make users look more attractive. Especially increasing the size of eyes and lips, changing skin color are the main functions of these filters.
The management of “TikTok” believes that the use of beauty filters can cause anxiety and decreased self-confidence in teenagers. For this reason, the social network intends to limit adolescents’ access to this function. However, younger users will still be able to wear virtual animal masks, such as bunny ears and dog noses.
