Tito Jackson, one of the brothers who formed the famous group Jackson 5, along with his youngest Michael Jackson, died at the age of 70, his children TJ, Taj and Taryll announced in a press release published Sunday, September 15 on Instagram. “It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson, is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being.”they write in a post published at the end of the day.
Tito was the third of nine Jackson children, including global superstars Michael and his sister Janet, whose songs are still heard to this day. The Jackson 5 included brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael. The family group, which was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, produced several hits in the 1970s, including alphabet, I want you back AND I’ll be there.
Born on October 15, 1953, Toriano Adaryll “Tito” Jackson was the most discreet member of the group. His brothers embarked on solo careers, notably Michael, who became one of the world’s biggest entertainers and was long nicknamed the “King of Pop.” Michael Jackson, whose career was marred by child abuse cases, died at the age of 50 on June 25, 2009.
