The Comedy Club entertainment television show, which was first broadcast 19 years ago, is closing down, according to the press service of TNT.
“We confirm that the Comedy Club is closing” – said resident, presenter and creative producer of the project Garik Kharlamov.
The final episode of “Farewell Comedy” will be broadcast on September 20 at 21:00 Moscow time. The show will begin with a statement by Kharlamov.
As part of the farewell, the club will be visited for the first time by participants of the “Female Stand-Up” show.
The final episode will also feature a TV host. Comedy Club was first launched on April 23, 2005. In 2006, Comedy Club entered the top 10 commercially successful Russian projects (9th place with a result of 3.5 million dollars) according to Forbes magazine. In April 2007, the hundredth episode was released and the production company Comedy Club Production was established. Later, the project moved from a small theater to a new, spacious one. In 2012, a majority stake in Comedy Club Production was sold to TNT for a record amount of 350 million dollars.
In 2017, the show again moved to the Barvikha Luxury Village concert hall.
The TV show has won the TEFI award twice: in 2017 and 2023.
