November 25 is the day of the city of Kalbajar in Azerbaijan.

The establishment of this significant day is connected with the liberation of the city of Kalbajar from the occupation of the Armenian armed forces. Today four years have passed since the city was cleared of Armenian invaders.
The liberation of Kalbajar was possible thanks to the political leadership, command ability of the victorious Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Ilham Aliyev and the successful military operations of the Azerbaijani army in the Patriotic War.
Thus, according to the statement signed by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, on November 10, 2020, Kalbajar should have been returned to Azerbaijan on November 15, 2020. November. However, the Armenian side asked for an additional 10 days to withdraw the army and illegally deploy people from the region. For this reason, the State of Azerbaijan has extended the deadline until November 25, taking into account the request of Russian President Vladimir Putin, demonstrating once again its humanitarian nature.
On September 27, 2020, the Azerbaijani army, which prevented the provocation of the Armenian armed forces on the front, liberated several districts, hundreds of villages and settlements, and strategic enemy heights from the enemy. The Patriotic War that lasted 44 days ended with a brilliant victory of the Azerbaijani army and our tricolor flag was raised in our cities, towns and villages that were freed from invaders.
With the release of Kalbajar, Azerbaijan implemented UN Security Council Resolution No. 822 and, in general, all its resolutions, in fact, by military and political means.
Kalbajar was under occupation by the Armenian Army since April 1993. 60,000 residents of Kalbajar had to be evacuated after heavy fighting from March 23 to April 3, 1993.
There were 147 settlements, including one city, one settlement and 145 villages on the territory of the district. Kalbajar residents lived as refugees in 707 settlements in 56 districts and cities of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Up to 13,000 private apartments and 37,852 hectares of forest area left on the territory of the Kalbajar region were looted until the Armenians were expelled and innocent people were brutally expelled from their ancestral lands.
As a result of the prolonged occupation of Kalbajar, biological diversity, including flora and fauna, specially protected natural areas were severely damaged, burning of areas, pollution of water resources, forests rich in valuable tree species and natural monuments. generally underground and above ground, suffered serious damage as a result of the deliberate plundering of natural resources, the ecological balance has been disturbed.
The natural resources of the Kalbajar region: Soyudlu (Zod) with industrially important reserves of 112.5 tons and the Agduzdag and Tutkhun gold deposits with reserves of more than 13 tons have been plundered by Armenia for many years.
