Please note that the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has been held every year since 1995. The main objective of this event is to assess progress in combating climate change in the world. Since the mid-1990s, within the framework of the aforementioned conference, the Kyoto Protocol was discussed, which contains mandatory legal obligations related to the limitation of greenhouse gas emissions in developed countries. In the sessions held in 2011-2015, the Paris Agreement, considered the most important international document in the fight against climate change, was discussed and adopted in 2015. To date, 195 countries have joined this agreement, including Azerbaijan.
