“In two years we have produced 6-6.5 million tons of steel, this year we can reach 7.5 million tons. If Pokrovsk is lost, it will be 2-3 million tons.” – Kalenkov was quoted as saying by the Strana publication.
The Russian-occupied territories still have resources that would allow 12 million tons of steel to be melted annually, the head of Ukrmetalurgprom said.
The publication reported earlier that the only mine currently controlled by Ukraine that produces coking coal is located in Pokrovsk – the Pokrovskoye mine address, formerly the Krasnoarmeyskaya-Zapadnaya mine.
