Toledo supports the third Nordic solidarity march against breast cancer

The Councillor for the River Tagus, Environment and Sports, Rubén Lozano, presented today the third edition of the Nordic Walk in Solidarity against Breast Cancer in favor of Apacama, together with the president of the association, Marisol González, and Sandra Gómez, Nordic walking instructor and Apacama volunteer.

A test that, according to the councilor, is part of the calendar of sports activities on public roads, and which is increasing, “because we are increasingly aware the importance of physical activity and taking care of our health” assured Lozano, confident that there will be more than 200 participants.

Nordic walking is a highly recommended and healthy activity for women who have suffered from breast cancer. This was indicated by the president of Apacama, who stressed that it has benefits for the mobility of the arm and shoulder and improves some side effects in patients such as lymphedema and also contributes to socialization.

The test will take place on September 28 at 11:00 a.m. from the start of ecological trail in the Azarquiel parking lot. The route is circular and includes 6 to 7 kilometers with a very accessible route. For this reason, Sandra Gómez, a volunteer from Apacama, invited all the inhabitants of Toledo to dress in pink and participate in this “pleasant and now with the path fixed, also accessible to wheelchairs and strollers,” she assured.

Participants will be able to choose the Nordic walking number or the hiker number and Registration costs 6 euros which can be made official on the Evedeport website, at Decathlon, or on the day of the race on the starting line.

Finally, the president of Apacama, Marisol González, thanked the Toledo City Council for its involvement in this event “for a good cause” and the rest of the collaborators and sponsors who make it possible.
