Minute of silence for Val Kilmer

At Cinemacon in Las Vegas, Tom Cruise finds moving words for his late “Top Gun” Co-Star Val Kilmer.
With a moment of silence, Tom Cruise, 62, honored his “Top Gun” colleague Val Kilmer (1959-2025), who died Tuesday at the age of 65. According to the magazine “The Black”, the actor got a touching minute.
At the annual industry event in Las Vegas, Tom Cruise was on stage to promote his film “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning”. Before he started talking about his stunts, Cruise asked the audience to join him a minute’s silence for Kilmer.
“I want a dear friend of me, Val Kilmer, honor,” cruise the deceased actor. “I can’t tell you how much I admire his work, how grateful and honored I was when he came to ‘Top Gun’ and later returned to ‘Top Gun: Maverick’. I think it would be really nice if we could hold together for a moment because he loved movies and gave us a lot. Just think of all the wonderful times we had with him.” After the minute’s silence, the 62-year-old said, “I wish you all the best on your next trip.”
Cruise and Kilmer got to know each other on the set of “Top Gun” (1986), where they mimicked the rival combat pilots Maverick and Iceman. Almost four decades later, they met for “Top Gun: Maverick” from 2022, where Kilmer returned to a order. It was his last performance in front of a movie camera.
Other “Top Gun” stars also mourns in public
Anthony Edwards, 62, from the original “Top Gun – You Fear and Death or Teufel” from 1986, explained the magazine “People”: “Val Kilmer has created a work in his life as an artist who has touched so many people in so many media. I hope he rests in peace.”
Danny Ramirez, 32, seen in “Top Gun: Maverick,” wrote in an Instagram story: “I felt blessed when I was in the same room. A brilliant and generous artist and one of the coolest. Quiet in Frieden, Val.”
