The town of Torrent was one of the most affected by the worst flood of the century which left at least 92 dead, counted until Wednesday evening. Hours after a tragedy that devastated a dozen villages in the Valencian Community, state security forces and agencies are working hard to recover the places and find the missing.
One of the cities where workers work day and night is Torrent, a town of 93,000 inhabitants located a few kilometers from Valencia and where its citizens find themselves without drinking water. This is why on Friday evening, many people queued at public fountains to get water.

Mazon says there’s no one left to save
The president of the Valencian Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, announced this Wednesday evening that, according to the data available to him, there would no longer be anyone to rescue during the emergency works after the passage of the DANA through Valencia, and he reported that this Wednesday alone, 70 air evacuations and 200 ground rescues were carried out.
Emergency services confirm that as a preventative measure, there is no longer anyone to rescue on roofs or high points, while having no trace of people trapped in vehicles.
