THE Delegate of the Spanish Government in Castile-La Mancha, Milagros Tolónstressed that the position announced by the PP to vote against the path to budgetary stability in Congress will mean that Castilla-La Mancha will lose 230 million euros.
In a statement, he regretted that the position put forward by the PP of voting against the path of stability proposed by the Spanish government, which will prevent Castilla-La Mancha from having a tax margin of 230 million for the years 2025 and 2026.
“If the PP rejects the path to stability, it will not harm the central government, it will harm the autonomous communities and municipalities by reducing their spending capacity over the next two years,” said the government delegate.
“There are 230 million euros of spending capacity that Castilla-La Mancha will not be able to allocate to health, education or social services, thus harming not the Spanish government, but the citizens and the citizens of our region,” said Milagros Tolón.
In addition, the negative impact will be felt in municipalities, including the main cities of Castilla-La Mancha, which will lose the following amounts over the next two years.
In this way, Toledo would have a spending capacity of 6.8 million euros, Albacete of 9.6 million euros, Ciudad Real of 4.8 million euros, Guadalajara of 4.7 million euros and Cuenca of 3.2 million euros.
Milagros Tolón recalled that The autonomous communities governed by the PP approved in the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council (CPFF) followed the government’s proposed path and abstained because they knew that the new deficit targets were beneficial to them.
For this reason, the vote against in Congress “is not only a serious irresponsibility, it is also a great incoherence and a lack of respect for the essence of the discussion and dialogue between the State and the autonomous governments.”
