The new decree on accommodation for tourist purposes approved in February by the Andalusian government has already made it possible to proceed with the removal from the tourism register. 2,600 homes registered in Malaga, Seville and Cádiz recently and which do not meet the requirements established in the standard. To this figure must be added the data which reflects the rest of the capitals and which has not yet been made public.
The Andalusian President, Juanma Moreno, presented this data in response to questions from the Adelante Andalucía group on housing policies and recent data from the Bank of Spain which reflects overwork practiced in Andalusian cities to pay rents and the high proportion of tourist apartments compared to the total stock, especially in cities.
According to the data, Seville City Hall has transmitted 715 cases of non-compliance with regulations to the Ministry. Malaga 1,550 and Cádiz 667. These cases, a total of 2,932, were reported, although from that moment an analysis process began to detect whether or not they comply with urban planning.
This procedure has been activated following the decree on tourist accommodation approved last February and this represents a revision of the model that was in force until that time. In Andalusia, the regional register is regulated in such a way that a responsible declaration is sufficient to register.
Since February, the decree has establishedo new requirements that tourist residences must meet and, at the same time, some municipalities have approved their urban planning regulations, such as in Seville or Cádiz, with new conditions. In this way, when a spill is detected, the town halls of the Junta de Andalucía carry out a review of the file to assess whether or not it meets the requirements.
