Toyota should build the first European electric battery in its factory in the Czech Republic. The European President Joshikhiro Nakata made an announcement at the Czech office on Wednesday.

The company will combine efforts with the Czech staff to expand the production line and build a new device for the assembly battery at the existing Toyota plant in Colin, about 50 kilometers east of Prague.

For Toyota, this decision notes the further development of its strategy, intended for 2040, the company said in a statement intended in order to make its neutral activities in Europe.

“This advanced technological project will improve our presence in the European market and will contribute to our other decisions of more effective transport,” said Yoshiro Nakata, the president and general director of Toyota Motor Europe Yoshiro Nakata.

The production of new electric vehicles and batteries is 680 million euros from Toyota, including a state incentive of up to 64 million euros.

“Estimated manuals for the state reach 250 million euros,” said Lukash, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic at the Lukash event.

Prime Minister Peter Fiala said that in the new line will create another 245 jobs in a factory in which 3200 people are already working.

“The automotive industry is about 10% of our GDP, and if we want to support it, we must systematically upgrade it. It is such projects that are vital for the future Czech car manufacturer, ”Fial said.

Toyota did not reveal the details about when production or model begins.

The leading world car manufacturer today produces hybrid models Aygo X and Yaris at the factory, at which more than 225,000 cars were produced last year.
