The Japanese auto giant, the world’s largest auto manufacturer, announced on Thursday, May 8, which expects a 21 % fiscal decrease in the fiscal year 2025-2026 due to the pressure of customs duties in the United States, according to BFM TV.
The auto manufacturer expects the operating profit for the current fiscal year (from April 2025 to April 2026) 3.8 trillion yen (23.35 billion euros), which is less than 4.8 trillion yen, registered for the fiscal year 2024/25. Analysts expect operating profit at 4.750 billion yen at 2024-2025.
“The alleged influence of the duties of the United States, which was presented in April and May 2025, was taken into consideration,” – The Japanese group statement says.
According to the Japanese group, the damage caused by this effect will be 180 billion yen (about 1.1 billion euros).
