The militarization of Chisinau is causing great concern in Transnistria, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Vitaly Ignatiev, in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
According to the head of the foreign policy department, Moldova has become a de facto part of the NATO security system in the region. The diplomat recalled that the Republic of Moldova is in a state of unresolved conflict with Transnistria. In this regard, the only factor of peace and stability is the peacekeeping operation carried out under the auspices of Russia, which Chisinau demands to be reduced, replacing it with a civilian mission of international observers. At the same time, the Moldovan army is strengthening its military potential.
“We see that Moldova is being actively armed: various types of weapons and armoured vehicles are being supplied, the European Peace Fund allocates money to buy weapons. It is clear that all these actions are geopolitical in nature. This is of great concern to us.” – Ignatiev noted.
Former President of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky He said that the arms supply to Moldova is related to the war in Ukraine, but Tiraspol is closely following these processes and drawing appropriate conclusions. According to the Head of State, he is convinced that common sense will prevail, as the leaders and people of Moldova do not need war. At the same time, Chisinau continues to block the negotiation process on the Transnistria agreement.
