Transport takes up Sánchez’s motto “more public transport and fewer Lamborghinis” in a spot

“If you’re going to move, do it in style; if you do, lambMaybe you’ll be late.” This is part of the song from the new commercial for the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobilitya spot launched this Thursday to promote the use of public transport and “contribute to the reduction of polluting emissions”, according to the note published by the department which directs Oscar Bridge.

The words of the video echo the message launched last week by the President of the Government, Pedro Sanchezat the opening of the political course. “Regardless of what some people think, Spain will be a better country if there are more electric cars, certainly made in Spain, more public buses and, therefore, more public transport and fewer Lamborghinis“, said.

In the video clip, with trap music and an informal tone but with a very political message since he uses the same words as Sánchez, the actor Abelo Valis appears getting on a bus and listing the advantages of using public transport because “you’ll be there soon” you get rid of traffic jams and it’s cheap.

Concretely, “600 euros you save per year”, the song continues. “And you remove the damage caused to our planet.” The objective, as recalled in the Transport press release, also aims to “gain space for pedestrians and bicycles and create more user-friendly and more united cities”.

The campaign, which will be broadcast on television, radio, in the press and on social networks under the slogan “Public transport, do you understand?”, was presented this Thursday by Sánchez and Puente. The spot was also published on the Twitter accounts of Transport and the minister himself, who accompanied his comment with the hashtag “MenosLamborghini”.

40 million for cycling

During the campaign presentation, Sánchez announced that the government would allocate 40 million euros in aid to cycling.

On the one hand, 20 million will be used to expand public bicycle systems and another 20 for their purchase, both by individuals and companies.

For Sánchez, it is one of the “healthiest, most efficient and sustainable” transport alternatives; and on which 35% of Spaniards bet, according to data managed by the Executive.
