Former Republican leader and presidential candidate Donald Trump has accused the White House, and in particular his rival Kamala Harris, of accusing the assassination attempt against him of being a result of attacks by the current administration.
“They probably shot me in the head because of what they say about me. They talk about democracy, (that) I am a threat to democracy, they are a threat to democracy,” – Trump said during a debate with Harris on ABC.
On July 13, there was an assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump during his campaign speech in Pennsylvania. Trump was wounded in the ear, one spectator was killed and two others were injured. The US Secret Service previously said it had killed a suspect who fired several shots towards the stage. He was hiding on the roof of a production building about 100 metres from the stage, outside the area where the event was being held.
