US President Donald Trump said that he signed letters in 12 countries that determine various customs duties with which he will encounter goods that he exported to the United States, which will be sent on the basis of “acceptance or refusal” on Monday.
This means that Trump decided to speed up negotiations with countries, performances instead of direct negotiations, until the end of the deadline, that many asked the question that they were enough to achieve a commercial agreement with all countries at the same time.
In his statements, Trump refused to identify the relevant countries, saying that this would be announced on Monday, refused to identify the presidential plane, heading for the presidential aircraft, heading for this on Monday.
Trump’s comments came a few days before the final term to make hard customs duties, which, according to him, will begin on Thursday, hesitate from 10 to 70 percent and includes dozens of economies from Taiwan to the European Union.
Trump told reporters on Thursday that he expected the first batch of messages on Friday, which was a national holiday in the United States, but the date changed.
In April last year, Trump announced the basic training camps of 10 percent and additional for most countries, some of which reach 50 percent in the world trade war, which turned financial markets upside down, and encouraged the governments to take measures to protect their economy.
Nevertheless, all customs duties were suspended, with the exception of the main 10 percent later for 90 days, to give more time to conduct agreements.
This period ends on July ninth, but Trump said at the beginning of Friday that customs duties can be higher than the levels announced in the past – some of them reach 70 percent – and most of them should enter into force on August 1.
In response to the question about his plans for customs duties, Trump said: “He signed some speeches and will be sent on Monday, possibly 12 (message) … Various financial amounts and various customs duties.”
Different countries seek to achieve commercial agreements that help them avoid high fees. Until now, the Trump administration has disclosed only two agreements with Britain and Vietnam, while Washington and Beijing agreed to temporarily reduce customs duties between them.
With the approach of the period of July, Trump has repeatedly stated that he intends to inform countries with reports of American customs duties. He said on a presidential plane that sending notes will be much easier than “sitting and doing 15 different things.”
He added: “We did this with the United Kingdom, and it was great for both sides, we understand that we have a certain deficit, and in some cases an excess, but not in many cases … and this is what you must pay if you want to deal with the United States.”
