US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday, September 17, called the suspect in the assassination attempt on his life, Ryan Wesley Root, a very dangerous person.
“They put this man behind bars. And I hope he stays there for a long time. This is a very dangerous person. A very, very dangerous person.” – Trump said in an interview with blogger Faroq Sarmad, which was broadcast on the social network X.
Trump also thanked the US Secret Service, which prevented the assassination attempt.
“It was something. But it all ended well. And the Secret Service did a great job.” – Trump said.
On September 15, there was an attempted assassination of Trump: a shooting took place at a golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The suspect was arrested and could face up to 20 years in prison, a fine and restriction of liberty. It was clarified that Trump was located 500 m from the epicenter of the incident. The Republican candidate later said that he was not injured in the shooting and was safe. The politician thanked his colleagues for their support.
